Backwater Voodoo

It was my first time to backwater voodoo. I spent 6 years on the Mississippi gulf coast, so my expectations for southern food is high. We started off with a few speciality drinks. (A Pain Killer and a Jazz Funeral) . I had the crawfish etuffee and my friend he'd the pork ribs. Both were very flavorfully, but portion size was on the small side. The pieces of crawfish in my meal were very small. Also it would have been nice to get some cornbread with my crawfish. I would rate this experience as a 6 out of 10. I might be back, but I leaving hungry.

Looking for something different for dinner out? Try Backwater Voodoo in Miamisburg. Intimate venue, small tables and bar in a converted house just off the main circle. Limited cajun/creole appetizer and entree options along with a great drink menu. I highly recommend the Jambalaya Dip appetizer! The shrimp and grits has a little heat but can be modified if you ask. The catfish was lightly breaded and flaky with a spicy remoulade. NO ONE was disappointed by their drinks. Rum is the staple and you get a heavy pour. I highly recommend!!

My husband and I came here on a whim looking for something different. We were very pleased with our cocktails and food! His etouffe was savory and full of flavor and my spicy shrimp and grits was just the right heat. We both agreed the portions were the perfect size as well!
