This was my first time at Babs, and the food and atmosphere was fantastic! I appreciated having breakfast/brunch choices beyond the typical omelettes, basic eggs and bacon plates, and pancakes. I ordered the shakshuka, which was delicious, and paired it with coffee (also delicious...not your typical watered down breakfast spot coffee). The staff was very nice and attentive, and Randy was a treat: he offered helpful suggestions and took the time to answer all questions about the menu. Note that Randy is direct, and tells it like it is. Perhaps that is intimidating to some, but I find it refreshing. I can see why Babs is an institution, and I will be back!
We came in to dine for a late breakfast and could not have experienced a ruder person. What a disbelief. This place looks lovely online; however, the place was empty and run down, and the host/server was straightforward, short, and disgustingly RUDE. He spoke quickly. We asked to look at the menu, and he scoffed that he was trying to share the menu with us. We left a tip, and he wouldn’t take it.…. As you can see from his reply, this guy is a loser. I even asked if he was the owner to which he replied no. Own up to your messy business and be kind. You'll notice all his replies are shallow and mean. Expect this same energy in person. I can only hope your karma comes back to you times ten. I truly don't expect this business to be around much longer, unless you like to be treated like a subservant idiot. Do better!!!!
First time visiting for brunch today. The owner (Randy) was direct, but helpful, and suggested recommendations were on point. The matcha waffle special and sides were delicious. Loved the decor. Will definitely try to return during a future Atlanta trip.
