Ba Lẹ Restaurant

Got the lemongrass beef vermicelli. Was excellent. Reminded me of all the authentic Vietnamese places I went to back in California. This place is the real deal. Support mom and pops.

Came here for lunch on Sunday with a friend. I ordered the pho Tai bo Vien and goi cuon and my friend ordered pho ga. She actually wanted bun ga nuong but I guess it was too early since the owner stated they only had pho. She still enjoyed her soup though. The broth was very light and tasty with the condiments. I did notice they have cilantro instead of basil here and the goi cuon only had meat and greens and no noodles. Overall, it was tasty and cheap.

The food is good but minus two stars for service. Not very friendly or welcoming. Older guy doesn't speak English so good luck getting any questions answered about the foodm The guy got frustrated with me because I kept asking him about an item on the menu thinking maybe there was somebody in the back that he would eventually call up to my table to help translate but nope. Basically with hand gestures he told me to move on to stop asking about it. Very disappointing. Oh and one reviewer said they only have cilantro and no basil but I had both basil and cilantro today so maybe they for out the day that she came or there was some English barrier again.
