Aomi Japanese Restaurant

Food was delicious! The sushi there is fresh and tastes great. The one I have a picture of actually has no rice, simply wrapped in cucumber. Really good.

There is parking by the restaurant but can be difficult to find since it is inside the Forum, so it gets pretty crowded during the weekend especially. Most staff wore masks. They do seem to be short staffed though, because the wait time to get our food was quite long. The drinks were delicious though! Highly recommend. We had a few different ones since we waited for the food to arrive. Gyoza: was okay. Outside wasn’t that crispy. Rolls: tasted really fresh! Tuna tataki and sashimi appetizers: so disclaimer again I’m not a huge fan of raw stuff…so from my limited knowledge, everything tasted really fresh and good. During our meal, I did hear someone at a different table yell spider. Personally didn’t see it BUT it did make me paranoid.

This was terrible. The hibachi chef was absolutely bored, the waitress was even worse. Even though the restaurant was empty and we made a reservation we still had to wait for a table. The bare minimum for service is a refill and clear away the empty plates. We got neither of those during our meal. The attached photos is everything we used during our time there.... drinks, appetizers, desserts, salad. I guess they expected us to clean it or something. There was a table of 3 and a table of 2 that came in after and their tables were not full of dirty dishes. Just so you know, there is an 18% gratuity for large parties so you were going to be paid for your effort either way. I am definitely noticing a trend in the bad reviews of this place. I truly regret spending my Christmas here.
