Anita's Grill

Anita's Grill located at 2122 Tulane Ave, New Orleans, LA 70112, is an absolute treasure and one of my favorite places to eat in New Orleans, they have a wonderful selection of breakfast choices, I love the pancakes!!! They offer grits and eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, liver, so many amazing choices!!!

I was in New Orleans due to a family tragedy, and spent most of a week there at University Hospital across the street. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the cheeseburger PoBoy (New Orleans baguette roll) with a fried egg on top for breakfast. It was huge, but I ate the whole thing, because it was too good not to. Service was outstanding and friendly as could be. Staffed by what I felt like were several southern grandmas. I told my extended family and friends who were also in town about this little place, and they had an amazing experience as well. Not only was the food great and plentiful, but they got word that two of the crew were military, and took extra special care of them and the bunch. The only issue with this gem, is that they aren't open very late. Unfortunately, I missed out on them a couple of times, because of visiting hours at the hospital. I'm sure it's not easy in this post Covid world to staff for 24 hours as they apparently once were open.

Lil hole in wall..cheap meals great food. Didn't like pancakes..too thick. I swear they were an inch thick. If u like thick pancakes then you will love these!!! Everything else was perfect!! Grits made just the way i like 'em..not watery and not too thick! Coffee hot and tasty..fresh fresh coffee!!!
