Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar

AMEN is my favorite Oyster bar for happy hour n Charleston. You can ???? go Gin @ 4.00 if you are cutting the carbs too! I still love my wine at 1.00 more. If you missed lunch, this is an even better stop because happy hour starts at 3! Bring a friend and share a full dozen oysters at 14.00. I add a beet salad for a healthy dinner. Before I start eating, I notice the beautiful wooden pews... then silently look up at the ceiling and appreciate the circular Oyster shell chandeliers that light up at night ...then pray ... and end with Amen. It's an old custom of Gratitude before meals that seems to be slipping away these days. After dinner, I stroll around the corner and walk up Church Street and stop in front of each beautiful and unique Church... and gratefully think Amen. From the starters, to the cocktails, to the entrees. Man this place is top notch in terms of downtown area seafood. Get yourself a reservation for the window seat booth in front of the restaurant if you have a large enough group and it will feel like you’re truly having a downtown dining experience. Waitstaff were very accommodating and the food was spectacular. If you like spicy, try the Caribbean Jerk Mahi and couscous ???????? pair that with the fried green tomatoes and you’re in southern fried heaven! 10/10
