Alma Mexicana Restaurante

We were visiting the DFW area and found Alma Mexicana on Yelp and, given it’s good ratings, we gave it a try. Glad we did. The food and service were excellent. I had the Camarones Oaxaca and it was great. A large portion but, more importantly, the the taste was complex and flavorful. Also, we really liked that it was a small (for now) family run and staffed restaurant. One point, this in not a fancy, white tablecloth kind of place but it was great in every other regard. I recommend you try it as well.

Had lunch at this new location, today. Restaurant has been opened for 7 days, so there was a little apprehension. Those concerns were sooo misplaced. The atmosphere was warm and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The tortilla chips w/ the salsa was a solid lead-in to our order. The Agua Fresca (Jamaica) was so tasty. We only had appetizers, so a full tasting will come later. Pappas Locas & Avocado Firecrackers were on the menu. Our lunch came out in short time. The fries were very crispy and with the toppings, could easily become addictive. The Firecrackers were both crispy & creamy, with a slight hint of spice heat, with good flavor. . All-in-all, we enjoyed our time and will definitely return to a lovely, and cozy location with such a nice staff. 5.7.22: Wife & I had dinner at,what has become our new "Go To" spot. Have discovered that the family has applied for an alcohol license! In short order a new phase for Alma's!

My husband and I enjoyed our lunch here on Saturday afternoon. The food was hot, tasted great and served fast and fresh. Omar was our server, a very nice guy, and new to Texas so welcome him if you see him :) All of the service was fast, helpful and kind. The drinks were strong... no frozen margarita machine - it's coming in December though. Prices were average - affordable. We will definately be coming back to this little gem
