2840 Restaurant & Bar

Unfortunately, this cafe was not up to par for brunch. Not only was the waiter overworked (very understaffed) but the food was very uninspiring. The burger tasted like old meatloaf, the drinks tasted like they had been sat next too a liquor bottle for taste rather than having it in them, and while the atmosphere was cute, it felt unattended. Dukessa has been planing their dog event for months, and yet, it felt rushed even with a low attendance.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time and now that things are crazy and life is even harder on small businesses I decided to make a point to stop in. I got an order of the shrimp and grits (I grew in Louisiana, so I can be a tough critic on these types of things) And in comparison this one was WAY better than any shrimp and grits that I have had since college. Awesome flavor for sure. I also ordered some bread pudding to go, but my kids ate it before I had the chance. They said it was tasty.

This place is a hidden gem to me! The ambiance is nice and the food was amazingly flavorful! I have to definitely go again for Sunday brunch!
