3.8/5 We visited for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. It was decent but not as great as we had expected, unfortunately. We ordered their signature Chicken & Waffles, which was not our favourite dish. The fried chicken was tender and flavourful but not exactly crispy, the waffles were not hot or crisp and the watermelon was mushy… frankly speaking, it felt a bit overpriced for what it is. The Smoked Brisket Sandwich was juicy and full of flavour. If you like a saucy sandwich, I would recommend ordering this. I would be open to trying some of their other menu items. Thanks to the servers here as they were very pleasant.

I recently visited Yard Bird and while the service was great and the ambience was amazing, I was disappointed by the high prices. $42 for chicken and waffles is simply too much, even if the chicken is good. Spending $172 for a few pieces of chicken and a small piece of fish, along with a couple of drinks that cost $18 each, left a sour taste in my mouth. The energy in the restaurant was positive, but the prices took away from my overall enjoyment of the experience. While I would recommend Yard Bird for the atmosphere and service, I would caution others to be prepared for the high prices.

Got the deviled eggs + chicken and waffles + water. Paid a whopping 80 bucks including tips. So, was it worth it? No. It was not even worth $40. This city is expensive. The deviled eggs were fine. Pretty standard mustard + mayo + yolk combo (salmon roe to make it wow), but too much filling the egg whites got lost, visually and taste-wise. Now, the chicken and waffles is supposed to be good. It’s very difficult to get it wrong. I mean, it has fried chickens and waffles, some of the best things in the world. Still, Yardbird managed to make this dish mediocre somehow. I barely finished half of it. The chicken was slightly on the tougher side, surprisingly. The batter was boring in terms of taste and texture. The waffles were ok, but I couldn’t taste the “sharp cheddar cheese”. The honey hot sauce was just... hot sauce, but it was good enough. However, the unexpected star of the dish was the “spiced watermelon”, whatever that spice was because I couldn’t taste it. That was the most random
