Wooden Nickel

My frd recommended Wooden Nickel for my hubby's birthday dinner. I made reservations online then the numbers increased by 4. When I tried to add on it said to contact the restaurant. Ms Sue answered and was so kind and helpful. She was able to reserve tables for 13. A few days later I received an email stating my reservations were cancelled. I frantically called the restaurant because everyone confirmed they were attending the surprise dinner for my hubby. But, just like Ms.Sue, Ms.Debbie put on her cape and saved the day. She fixed the issue and was able to understand what I requested because Ms.Sue notes were thorough. When we arrived I was able to meet Ms.Debbie(she's so sweet in person). Paul was our host and he was kind, funny and didn't miss a step with us! Now for the food. It was soooo freaking gooood! No one complained at all. The chocolate martini was delicious ????. I have always loved the Wooden Nickel and we dine there often. However, I had a bad experience on Monday, August 15. We were a group of 6 women there to have dinner and discuss a book we had all read. We've gone there several times for this reason. There was a very rowdy group next to us. Lots of eye rolling in the restaurant by all of the other patrons. We could barely hear ourselves talking to each other. We would normally stay and have dessert and coffee, but we couldn't wait to get out of there! I called on Tuesday to discuss this with a manager, left my name and phone number, still waiting for a call back. Very disappointed.

Had a lovely Sunday evening dinner with my wife, kids and parents. It wasn't very busy, but the staff was very friendly and tried to make our visit and pleasant as possible. The wine selection was good, and the portions were more than generous. Flavor was very good. The bread, soups and salad were all delicious. I had the Shrimp Fra Diavlo and it was just spicy enough with plenty of seafood. I left with a full belly. I would come back here again. Kid-friendliness: They offer a children's menu and the staff was very accommodating of our family, which includes a 5 year old, 4 year old and 6 month old.
