I got to return the food because the greens and the black eye peas tasted sour. The place was extremely hot, flies flying around the table, they didn't even apologized for the spoiled and got an attitude when I ask for a refund. Good thing I paid with credit card. Thank you for your reply. I was upset about my experience and walked out. I paid with credit card so you can just revert the transaction. I would like to try again in the future and have a 5 star experience. Thank you for the refund. As i said, I would like to go try again because I know you guys care. Also, I worked suggest a menu with prices. Raising my the stars to 4 but really, I want to give you 5 stars next time I visit your restaurant
Beware of OWNER! The owner is extremely rude and argumentative with customers, especially women. The young man that fixes the plates (assuming the son) was very kind and accommodating. The owner makes an awkward, random statement about how much food we received - perhaps to justify the ridiculous high prices. Note: money was not an issue for our party of four (4). In turn, I commented that we just want the best tourism experience while visiting Memphis, TN. What a big mistake! He starts ranting about "you wouldn't question the white man about his prices, etc." Then, he comes from behind the counter, hands in his pocket as if he were carrying a gun trying to intimidate my husband. We simply responded back to his sarcastic, erratic behavior and nonsense talking. If he ever marched or knows anything about Dr. King/his legacy, it was lost a long, long time ago. Aside from being prideful, mean and surly, something is definitely rattling around in the owner's head that is beyond understandi
The food was just OK. We ordered breakfast. The pancakes tasted better than they looked. The sausage had no flavor. The eggs were runny. The grits and bacon were great. $40 for 2 people for breakfast. Not a bad place but I don't have to return. The owner was nice.
