Von Rothenburg Bier Stube

On Monday June 27 2022 at about 5 p.m. we visited Von Rothenburg Bier Stube with 4 adults and after some confusion got a table and placed our order on line- as no one greeted us and the interior seating was closed. We were surprised at the limited "German" food options. We slowly came to realize the menu and seating arrangements were only an annex for Big Boy - and that the kitchen in Big Boy was making the Bier Stube food. When our food arrived it was overcooked and fryer burned. we took a few bites - ate the fries and mostly tossed the rest. The server who brought us food was rushed and not paying much attention to the people at the tables. It seems that - no dress code was the norm for all the employees. In previous times - under past ownership - I have enjoyed absolutely great German food and superior service at Bier Stube. However, I would never go back there again to have German food. The only positive was that the beer was actually good. Some suggestions for Chaz

Service is okay, beer is awesome - all of them, food was terrible, prices are not worth the visit (food prices, beer prices are reasonable). The atmosphere would be nice but my visit was surrounded my adults playing with fire irresponsibility. It is obvious, based on the decor and set up of tables, that this was once a very popular German go-to location, but it seems that it has faded. The outdoor seating is nice and the beer is good, but a food truck would please the customers over what my guests and I were served today. I recommend going to Old Germantown instead!

Miss the days of the old Von Rothenberg Bier Stube. Barely any true German food options, and those that still exist, are far from quality or authentic. Other than some of the motif and the beer, not much is left of once was a wonderful German restaurant. What a shame. Oh and Spätzle, yeah, it is not supposed to be oval shaped, chewy and clearly from a bag. It's pretty simple to make the right way from scratch. Hard to tell the difference with their "Spätzle" and orecchiette (not German or eaten like Spätzle) style pasta....Hope this place gets new ownership soon! Miss the staff and good food from back in the day!!!
