Well our experience was pretty poor at Virginias. Our table had 2 Benedict’s and who ever they hired to poach their eggs probably should be given a different job first they came back super hard like hard boiled. We asked to get new eggs and what they brought back was honestly just unacceptable we almost just left. They brought raw eggs in dishes with the poaching water. Thankfully the manager came right over and made things right but it took another 30 minutes to get the meals remade and the manager did comp. But still the food was okay definitely not worth the prices. The breakfast burrito has a made with liquid egg and also not appetizing. The food was poor the service was good and did try to make it better. Seems they need new staff or better training.
Traveled to Charleston for a weekend getaway. Saw Virginia's on King and thought we'd give it a try. It was around noon and they offered brunch. We didn't have a reservation but since someone didn't show up, they were able to accommodate us. No wait. The location is great - located in historic downtown Charleston, so within walking distance from our hotel. The food was decent and the drinks were good. My husband and I both had the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict, I had home fries and he had grits. I had a peach Bellini and he had a Bloody Mary. The customer service was excellent meaning our server was friendly and helpful with selections. I'd recommend.
Stopped here for lunch recently. Good selection of salads and sandwiches and some Southern classics. Had the meatloaf sandwich which was tasty but could have used some more tomato paste/sauce for added flavor. It came on Texas toast with grilled onions. (I skipped the fried egg). Others in the group had the seasonal salad with chicken which they said was very good, and another got the pimento cheese BLT which looked yummy. The drink menu is lacking for my taste and included drinks used flavored schnapps, vodkas and such. Despite that I did try the Sweet Tea Margarita which was refreshing.
