Virgil's Cocktails and Cocina

PRE pandemic Virgils was AMAZING. Post pandemic has lost it’s way. Used to be a regular before Covid. Mourned they’re closer during the pandemic. Since they’ve re-opened idk what uppity bs LA wanna be direction they are trying to pull but… Tacos aren’t available a la carte anymore. And you can’t causally meet with friends for good drinks now that theres a lady asking for reservations at the door with a clip board when the place isn’t even busy. Fingers crossed ???????? one day they get back to the greatness Virgils once was.

I went to Virgils to have a birthday day dinner. We waited 15 minutes for the waiter after asking other servers they finally found him. I ordered tacos and substituted the pork for chicken. I was given a taco that I didn’t even order. Thank goodness I wasn’t allergic. The waiter told me the kitchen couldn’t make what I wanted. If that was the case why didn’t the server come back and ask me to order something else instead of giving me what he wanted to give me. Or just fess up say you put the wrong order in and give me the option to order something else instead, The manger brushed it off as if I just didn’t want it… sorry sir but it wasn’t what I ordered. This will be last time going to Virgils

Unfortunately almost had a tragic accident. Multiple bones in chicken tinga tacos. One larger than a quarter. Feels like either negligence or as if it was left there on purpose. There’s already barely any meat, couldn’t take a second to see a huge completely different colored object in the taco?! Bar staff super kind, quick service. Very clean and gorgeous atmosphere. Watch what your bites here!
