Oh wow! If you want real authentic Italian food and culture, come here!!! Great atmosphere, music, wine, people, and food. Definitely will be coming back.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! This was such a hidden gem that is a must try Italian place in Sarasota. Vino vino is located in a strip mall which makes it super unassuming, but don’t be fooled by this! The owners are so sweet and welcoming and love to talk about the roots of their food and culture in Southern Italy. Ciro was fantastic — he recommended the most delicious wine to us (see photos), so much so that we ended up ordering two bottles. The food was well-paced and really felt like there was heart and soul behind each dish. I can’t say enough positive things about my experience here and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stray away from the overpriced tourist traps nearby! Don’t skip: the homemade focaccia (this was to die for and they will keep refilling it until you tell them to stop), the mushroom truffle pasta, the red sauce pasta with burrata melted inside of it, and the ragú. (I can’t find the exact dish names but these were definitely the highlights)
I'm so excited to have found this little gem. As the child of an Italian immigrant, I grew up with homemade and traditional Italian cuisine.....so finding authentic restaurants has always been difficult. This place feels like I'm walking into Nonna's house. The food and service were second to none. If you're having any doubts, put them aside and GO. You won't regret pulling a chair up to one of their tables.
