I don't have a whole lot of experience with Nigerian restaurants. I've been to a few, and I usually get Joloff rice and chicken. And it's always ok, but I've never been really excited about food I got from a Nigerian restaurant, until now. I got the "designer stew" with chicken. The host was very nice and got worried when he heard I had never gotten it before because it's very spicy. So he offered to let me try it first before ordering. It was awesome! Yes it was spicy. It was 3 drumsticks and a hard-boiled egg with some really unique and delicious sauce. I ordered another one to bring home so my wife and kids could try it. It was a big hit. I can't wait to go back and try some more food here.
First time ever ordering west african food, I was super excited to try the egusi stew with the pounded yam. My order was completely missing the pounded yam which was the main reason why I wanted to try african food, although the egusi does taste wonderful, I am upset I didnt get the full experience I wanted for trying african food for the first time lol pretty upset because I was hangry. Giving the one star because I paid too much for the food including delivery fees and tip when I live 10 mins away also missing important item.
My family is sick with COVID and we were hoping to have a hearty Nigerian meal like my mom would make. However that is NOT what we got; rather we were sorely disappointed. The Pepper soup with assorted meat was bland and packaged poorly in multiple rectangular plastic containers. There was hardly any meat in the soup either. Efo riro and puff puff were both good. But the most upsetting part of our meal was the moin moin. It was delivered FROZEN. On what planet would a restaurant deliver a dinner order frozen?? Especially without any kind of warning? You should have just said you didn't have it. This was not my first time eating from this restaurant. In my experience, their service is lacking and the food is a strong hit or miss.
