Village Kabob Mediterranean Grill

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I've been to in a long time. Would highly recommend the beef shawarma or chicken kabob. The rice pudding dessert is SO good. The owner and employees are all very nice and accommodating. Would recommend this restaurant over every other restaurant in the Carlsbad village.

Fantastic Mediterranean restaurant with patio seating in the heart of Carlsbad Village! I ordered the beef shawarma wrap with salad, as well as the hummus trio to share. All three kinds of hummus were excellent; they even had a hummus on the sweeter side that tasted like it was made with beets! The two pieces of pita bread that came with this were incredible. My salad was made of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and onions, but felt a tad on the oily side for me. The freshness of the vegetables still ensured it was delicious though. Fries were also available if you prefer. The shawarma wrap was flavorful, and we served with tzatziki by default. I opted to add a garlic sauce, and was very sad when I had scraped the last drops onto the wrap. It was very good. The meat was crisp on the edges and flavorful, and the pita was light and fluffy. The outdoor patio seating bordering the street was a lovely place to sit and take in the sights and sounds of Carlsbad. I highly recommend visiting this tasty

I came a little late on a Thursday night so I understand the light meat on the beef shawarma plate (also inflation etc). What I don’t understand is the lamb fat chunks mixed in and sold as meat since they are unchewable. Lamb fat can be a great flavor enhancer as they do in my country, but should be thrown in as a bonus, not filler on what a plate of meat should contain. Flavor of the meat was great though, loved the charred pepper on the side, good baba ghanouch / sumac flavor happening, bread was super delish, all in all great dish to split on a diet. It’s a taste of Mediterranean. I like the open space though
