Heard about the variety of international food at Mango House (the complex that houses Urban Burma) and specifically Urban Burma, so I came to check it out. There is a parking lot behind the building, and there is also street parking out front. Urban Burma is the first restaurant on the left if you enter from the street. The cashier was friendly and helpful with the menu. The taste of the food was good, but the noodles were overcooked, and the chicken was too dry. They do spice levels from 1-5, and the 4 was pretty spicy. I tried the Burmese iced tea which was similar to Thai iced tea in taste. Most of the other reviews are great, so maybe I had a one off experience.
I got the sampler which i really enjoyed that they offered it as a way to try it all. The curry was great but i was not as into the salad, it was a bit salty. Id definitely be back and get something else!
This is the most authentic and delicious Burmese restaurant I've tried and the craziest thing is, it's better than the ones I've tried in San Francisco. What a treat to have this in Denver's backyard, we're so lucky. We tried the Tea Leaf Salad, Shan Noodles, and SII Cheh Kao Sweh Noodles. The first noodle dish is in a broth. The second dish is a dry noodle which comes with a side of small broth. Everything was so good, the SII Cheh Kao Sweh was mind blowing. We got a spice level of 3 out of 5 and that's perfect for us, a nice spicy kick, but I think you would probably want to stick around a 1 or 2 if you can't handle too much spice. I will absolutely be back. Don't skip this place, you'll regret it.
