Uncle Dom's American Pizza

I haven't had Detroit style pizza since the late 70's..and let me tell you this place sent me to nostalgic yummy bliss! Grass roots production and downtown Troy feel but a foodies dream! Seriously the best thick cut pizza!! Reasonably priced and you will not be disappointed!! I would have taken a picture before my husband and I dug in--but the smell was teasing us on ride home!

If you like Detroit Style pizza, this needs to be a destination. There is a specific way to make Detroit. Thick and crisp crust, cheese to the edges and a thick tomato sauce that's layered on top of the cheese on each slice. It's a pizza dynamic! The crispy melted cheese on the edges where it sits in a deep pan as it's made was perfect and the mozz on top was just right. Detroit style is what Uncle Dom's has, and they do it right! Even though I thought I was right outside, I wasn't sure where it was. I was confused and there are other pizza places nearby. Don't mix them up! lol Make note it's actually inside the Eldorado tavern. So look for that and then you'll find Dom's pizza inside. This pizza is so worth the visit. I got mine to go. While I waited I had a soft drink at the bar and was served by a very pleasant bar tender. The large pie is big enough for several hungry people.

Uncle Dom’s Detroit style pizza isn’t a thick pan pizza(dense), it’s a thick (AIRY) pan pizza w/the cheese all the way over the edge & cooked to the outside!! If you haven’t, YOU MUST!!! Highly RECOMMEND!;)
