Umi Japanese Grill & Cafe

The salmon teriyaki bowl is my go-to. It’s changed a little over the years but the flavor is the same and it’s consistently good. The sushi is good too! The only things I would say are, I wish the salmon filets were like they used to be- thicker. Also the guy at the register wasn’t nice… he really didn’t say a word the entire time so I can’t really describe why he wasn’t nice. Maybe Uninviting or inconvenienced is a better description?

While I went to the oceanside, I went to a nearby Japanese restaurant ???? The tempura and chicken teriyaki were delicious.

I stumbled upon this little eatery while out walking. Just had an early lunch. I had the chicken yakisoba. This the best yakisoba I have had since living in Japan about 30 years ago! Perfectly seasoned, and the chicken was grilled to perfection and tender with a nice amount of teriyaki sauce over it. I wish I lived here, it would be my favorite spot. A great menu with lots of variety, they also have some teriyaki dishes and a lot of sushi dishes as well. The staff is very friendly and not more than 5 or 6 minute wait for the food. Everything is cooked to order.
