After taking a hiatus from Tupelo Honey for a year, I returned with hopeful expectations. Sadly, the experience was marred by a series of letdowns. A drink incorrectly mixed had to be sent back. The Honey dusted fried chicken, usually a standout, was unbearably salty. The macaroni and cheese suffered the same fate, while the collard greens were just passable. Dessert, a banana pudding, was overwhelmingly sweet, rendering it inedible after two spoonfuls. The plating left a lot to be desired, leaning more towards a diner's presentation rather than the upscale dining experience I remembered. To my dismay, the menu seemed to have undergone a revamp, now featuring cheaper ingredients. Further, it's evident there's been a high turnover rate with staff, another indicator that things have shifted since my last visit. Hours of Operation Monday - Thursday (11AM - 9PM) Friday (11 AM - 10PM) Saturday (10 AM - 10PM) Sunday (10 AM - 8PM) Brunch - Every Saturday & Sunday until 4PM Happy Hour - Monday - Friday (3PM - 6PM) There are two locations in Texas. One in Frisco and the other in Las Colinas. I recommend making a reservation on Opentable or through their website to ensure you have seating. I visited this location during lunch and it was pretty open, but began to get busy near the end of my meal. There is plenty of seating both inside, near the bar, and outside on their covered patio. During this visit I received a free snack item for checking in an I tried their Famous Fried Green Tomatoes. Had an amazing brunch to celebrate a birthday! They have a great patio and a welcoming atmosphere. I recommend making a reservation for larger parties. There is plenty of parking at the garages close by. The service was excellent, our waitress Isa was so friendly and attentive. The menu is full of southern comfort food. We had the friend green tomatoes which were served in a bed of grits. You must try their biscuits. The chicken and waffles was excellent, the chicken was crispy and the waffles where cooked perfectly. They have a great selection of mimosas and other speciality drinks and a vast beer selection. Great spot to try close the to Cowboys Star training facility!
