Tre Rivali

The service was impeccable across the board. Janet was helpful in guiding us through the food and beverage menus, offering suggestions and pairings along the way. Chef Alexa stopped at our table to check in and share stories of her favorite dishes. It was truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Milwaukee. You should definitely check it out! Plus, Wine is 1/2 off on Wednesday and the Lamb Kafka app, butternut squash soup, and olive oil cake are fantastic!

I had a reservation at the Journeyman Hotel and decided to eat at the restaurant rather than find somewhere else in the third ward. I'd checked the menu online the when making my reservation the day before, so I was surprised to find the menu I was given had different options listed. If you're going for a specific dish, it might be worth calling to confirm availability. The star of the night was the sticky toffee pudding for desert - a little Americanized (ice cream instead of custard) but it was very good. The atmosphere is odd. The patio (sidewalk) was full and had a great ambiance (for sidewalk seating) but the indoor seating was empty when I arrived and there was only 1 table when I left. Breakfast the next morning was the same. There's no room service currently, so I expected a crowd but it was empty. I took a croissant back up to my room rather than eat in silence.

Just skip the Tre Rivali and go straight up to the 9th floor bar (The Outsider). Tre Rivali is overpriced garbage. Thinking it was just me with a disgusting pizza, the wife is much more forgiving and said her ravioli was "edible". Waitress (Desiree) was nice but incredibly useless. When someone needs a drink refill during the meal, the waitress shouldn't disappear and take three other new orders. This is the first time in probably a decade that I purposely didn't tip. Desiree should never work with the public again.
