Trattoria Il Panino

Solid Italian comfort food served in a homely atmosphere. Came here during the Boston marathon weekend, and we were still able to make a reservation two days in advance. The first floor tables were full by the time we got there, so we were seated downstairs. With the spaces between the tables kept to a bare minimum, it felt a bit cramped, but it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought. The house special cold antipasto assortment was a great start to the meal. All the veggies tasted somewhat similar, but I enjoyed their combination with a fresh slice of the mozzarella. For the pasta, we got the lobster ravioli and the carbonara. Lobster ravioli was packed with lobster meat, and it went nicely with the crab meat sauce. On the other hand, carbonara wasn’t the best I’ve tried in North End. I usually prefer carbonara made without any addition of cream, but it seemed like they added extra cream to it. I’ve been here dozens of times for lunch and dinner. This is my go to spot on the North End. I have visited almost every restaurant on the strip and in my opinion this is by far the best place to get an authentic Italian meal. For an appetizer I always get the mussels and I’ve had just about every dish and I think every dish is good however the spaghetti carbonara is always my top choice here. I have referred several friends and family members here and I’ve always received good feed back from everyone. Highly recommend to everyone and anyone!

Mehh not horrible. We got the chicken parm, tortellini w prosciutto, and gnocchi. The parm is ok and the gnocchi is… not so good. But the tortellini with ham is good. Toilet is nice. Was really quiet when i came. They gave us a small table for 4 even though we are a party of 5.
