This Old House Japanese Restaurant

I’ve been a resident of VB for 13 years and have tried most of the local fare. Had T.O.H.J.R saved for awhile and when sushi came up for dinner, I knew where I wanted to try. Upon arrival, the smell of incense hits you. At first it’s fine but after awhile it became overwhelming to a highly sensitive person and I even formed a headache later… I ordered a miso, soup, house salad, spicy tuna cocktail & a spicy philly roll. The miso soup and the house salad dressing is one of the best I’ve had in the area. When the tuna cocktail and roll came I couldn’t get over how big the chunks of fish were. I am a small person and it was too much for me to chew in one bite. By the time the sushi roll came I couldn’t muster down more than 2 pieces because the pieces of fish and cream cheese were so big + the rice. I ended up taking it home and hope to cut it down to more manageable pieces. Overall I don’t think I’ll be visiting again but good service!

This place is excellent we visited close to closing time and got our food to go. The chef is fantastic ! The service is awesome. The chef made will make you a roll if it's not on the menu. He takes special requests . The food was plentiful and a work of art. The cowboy had tender meat which paired greatly with the strawberry and cream cheese. The cucumber roll was the best I have ever had ! It was all very filling. I will be returning. Vegetarian options: If you can describe it the chef can likely make it . Parking: Parking is plentiful

Tried it with some of my friends last night and wow… we all agreed best sushi around! Everything was fresh and the rolls where Huge. Everyone was so nice and helpful! Definitely will be returning
