Great atmosphere and service. Had the egg rolls appetizer which were very good with the jalapeño sauce. Ordered the jambalaya which was fantastic with awesome shrimp, chicken, and sausage. Girlfriend got the chicken and ribs and said it was very good. Ended with the bread pudding which was huge and had awesome flavor. Only complaint is that it was uncomfortably cold inside, had to keep jackets on.
The atmosphere was the thing I liked the most about this place. My wife was here previously with friends, and one of the reasons she wanted to go with me was because she had exceptional service. The day we went, while everyone was friendly, we did have trouble with refills and getting the check on time. I had a burger. It wasn't bad, but it didn't really thrill me, and there was something about the mayonnaise that I didn't like. I'm not sure if it was too much of it, the brand they used, or both. The fries were really good, though. I sucked those fries in like a Shark vacuum. I hear the lemonade here is good, but I didn't try it because I didn't want to get charged a lot since I usually like a few refills. My wife said her meal this time wasn't worth the amount of money we paid either. She also ordered chips and salsa, which was $8 by itself. We had enough bread that we didn't even eat the chips at the restaurant. Speaking of bread, my wife said you have to ask for bread because they w
Their tomato gin soup (that I order without the gin) is the best soup in the world. I always make everyone try it and even the two mushroom hating people in our group were raving about it. The steaks are amazing, especially the balsamic ribeye, the fries are great, and the desserts (especially the cheesecake and the brownie) are wonderful too. I've never had a bad meal or even a bad dish here and we always look forward to eating here when we're in the Chicago area.
