I wish my pictures could better represent how incredible our dinner was at The Standard. This was one of the best dinners we've ever had (ever) especially because of how fancy and unique the experience was. The staff welcomed us by name at the door, gave us a tour, and told us about the history of the building. Each of the dishes was so beautifully made! It was well worth the price for a fancy, special night out.
The service at the Standard is top notch! 5 out of 5 stars for the ambiance, the history of the house and restaurant, and the quality and freshness of the food. From the moment we pulled up, there was a representative outside giving us some of the history of the house and escorting us in to another welcoming hostess. The server was amazing. Very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable of the menu. The lamb chops and creamed corn are definitely a must try! We also received complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Please visit The Standard if you are in Tennessee for an upscale experience outside of the bar scene with big flavors, history, and five star customer service.
This experience should get bonus stars! Among the fanciest and classiest restaurants I've ever been in, and by all rights should have had an air of superiority but everyone there was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and felt like they were old friends welcoming us into their home. The food was amazing, the drink selection was intimidating but easy to find something wonderful, and the atmosphere and staff were second to none. Fairly pricy, but completely worth it for the experience and the food really was fantastic. Kid-friendliness: They were great with my kids, who have never eaten at such a fancy place before.
