In my opinion, good, but not great. This is pretty subjective, but I really wasn’t a huge fan of the available bbq sauces on the table - which really make or break the experience for me. Meat didn’t seem that high quality for my lunch - kinda tasted like the leftovers from last night. Sides were really good though.
The inside seems more like an old steak house than a BBQ joint (if that makes a difference to you when going to have bbq), and the food was just ok. The service was very friendly but a little slow at times. By far the best thing we ate were the biscuits. The hush puppies were pretty good too. The ribs were as opposite to ‘fall of the bone’ as you could get. So tough. The beans were undercooked (read: hard) but the flavor was good. Potato salad was good. Brisket was terrible and nothing resembling brisket. Pulled pork was moist. Vinegar sauce was impossible to get out of the bottle on the table because you can’t shake it and all the flavor is at the bottom so you just get straight vinegar. Overall it was a lackluster experience.
A definite must go to place when in Raleigh NC - I was so impressed with the Big Boy Burger WOW simply fabulous. The meals here are well proportioned and service, food, and quality all are PERFECT. I am posting photos of my favorite burger in this lifetime and why it should be entered into the best burger of the USA contest. This is a solid place, that I can definitely recommend to all my friends, family, and followers without any hesitation. This restaurant is well deserving to receive a five out of five perfect square review. A definite place that I will return every trip to Raleigh!
