The Pepper Club

This place was beautiful and so was the food. Unfortunately it didn't taste the same. I came for the Ube French 6 it was so pretty and looked exactly like the pictures I saw. However, the first bite was disgusting! I don't know if they ran out of ingredients and had to substitute, but it tasted like horrible dye! Once that bitter taste of purple dye hit my wife and I both had to drink a full glass of water to try to get the taste out. I was so disappointed in the taste, but I got great pics. The other food was delicious. Bacon crispy and meaty, and the breakfast potatoes were delicious. I'm just very disappointed in the Ube French Toast.

Had an appointment downtown and came afterwards on a whim. Situated in a very nice hotel, we arrived at the Pepper Club during happy hour. Pretty cool happy hour with small bites and cocktails. The sushi was delicious, as was the Mac and cheese. Place was quiet, but gets busy on weekends apparently. Will try brunch next time as they do it daily.

The pepper club is located inside The English hotel owned by Todd English in the arts district. Parking was pretty simple since they have a little lot by the building. The atmosphere is pretty cool thanks to the decorations but was not as lively as I thought it would be. We did have great service and the food was delicious. I will say it is on the pricier side. They are going for a more Japanese fusion for the cuisine so maybe not for everyone. I really enjoyed miso soup.
