The Original Hog Wild

It was our first time here at Hog Wild and since I am a vegetarian, I know this is not the place for me but I still wanted to give it a try. I know it is all about the pulled pork, BBQ meat but I wanted to check the place out for the ambiance and I'm glad I did. You order your food at the register and then they'll give you a number and they bring the food out to your table which was pretty easy. I ordered the portabella Mushroom sandwich, my hubby ordered the shrimp dinner and my little guy got the cheese hot dog and it was all pretty darn good. If you're someone who loves BBQ and meat, this place is definitely for you!

DEFINITELY NEED TO STOP HERE when heading in or out of Chicago! We wanted a fun atmosphere with good food after spending most of the day in a discouraging meeting about a diagnosis of a family member at UChicago Medical. Hog Wild did the trick! It is only 20-30 minutes from UChicago and right off the interstate 57. It’s a very fun place and plenty of selfie photo ops throughout the restaurant. We arrived at 3:00pm & there was no line, service was fast & the food was hot, fresh and delicious!! We highly recommend the pork chop, pulled pork & portobello mushrooms. Food portions are huge so splitting a meal or taking home leftovers makes the price quite affordable. Excellent place!!!! We will definitely be back on our way to and from Chicago during our many trips to UChicago for treatments in the coming months.
