The Olde English Pub and Pantry

This is the WORSE place to eat at! The restaurant was full of gnats, the floor was sticky, one of the floor boards in the bathroom was broken and almost caused my daughter to have a terrible accident. Now to the food. Not only is it disgusting but the portion sizes are for toddlers. I ordered the salmon and it came with 4 fork fills of cabbage, 3 boiled Brussel sprouts, and a $8 portion size of salmon that they sell in Price Chopper! NEVER AGAIN, I’d rather get a McDonald fillet o fish before ever eating at Olde English Pub! The picture below is exactly what came with my salmon. I tried moving the veggies around on the plate to make it look fuller. And that sauce on it was DISGUSTING

Great ambience.. this building is very very old but very cool esthetics. We tried their chicken tikka croquettes and the dipping fries. It was good. Our server was very attentive.

The Olde English has been my go-to bar for celebrations of any kind for a good 10 years now. While I still miss some things that are no more, The Olde English remains one of my favorite places in the Capital District for a pint and some food. The atmosphere is so cozy, the food is excellent, and the beer selection is so different than anywhere else nearby that it always makes the experience stand out. The garden in summer is lovely, the fire in winter is so comforting. All around an excellent place to go! Update 3/30/22: this place just gets better and better. The staff here is a solid 12/10 and always makes me feel at home. Better than just a bar to visit for celebrations- this is just all around my go-to pub in general. ♡
