This place is incredible. The food is delicious, the drinks are tasty, the decor is unlike any other. We were blown away and will come back. Only comment is our server was extremely quick, pushingly rushing, and messed up several of our orders. I’m still giving five stars because I think it was just that server, not sure what the rush was though because there were plenty of empty tables and no wait.
Hosts were young and inexperienced. The girl yelled: "Your table is ready!" and then went and stood over on the other side of the large foyer room. She didn't come over and get my wife, our friend, and myself. This led to questions about whether our table was actually ready. When my wife told her what she did wasn't cool, she just curtly said "Sorry" and walked away. When we left the "Hosts" didn't say goodbye or anything. They just watched us walk out. I think it's because they were kids who just didn't know that a "Host" is supposed to be friendly and accommodating. It's all about them right? Then these kids, seemingly, never got any training on how to be a Host. Our portions were small. We bought PASTA for cryin'-out-loud, it's not platinum; fill up the plate. What we did have tasted good and our Waitress was good. Still... We will not be back. We are going to keep going to our old squeeze, Maggiano's in Scottsdale. The Old Spaghetti Factory didn't compete with them.
This is one of my oldest favorite places in Arizona and I've been coming here since I was a young boy. This place is all about the relaxed but eccentric environment. The comfy chairs don't match, some of the vintage pictures on the walls are creepy, the wood floors squeak and the train car in the middle of the dining room is just - well awesome. Their food is good, simple Italian food - nothing too fancy. I love the vesuvius spicy pasta or the meat-lovers pasta dish. Try a fresh-made Italian soda, and please try the delicious spumoni. What a remarkable blast this place is.
