The service was excellent. Hamid, our server, was especially wonderful. He overheard that it was my friend’s birthday and wrote “happy birthday” on the plate in beautiful chocolate script. He also gave us a dessert and water bottle on the house.
Actually ZERO stars. We had dinner at the Mark a couple of months ago and we were beyond disappointed. So much in fact that I didn't even want to wast my time writing a review! But I just received an email from the restaurant group asking us to try their other locations, which compelled me to write this review. First the good. The service was excellent and the calamari was tasty. Now the bad. The rest of the food both in quality and preparation was abysmal. We started with a salad -- couldn't be more pedestrian. No thought, just some lettuce and other things tossed together. For the main course, we ordered a burger. Hard to screw that up -- think again. The bun was far bigger than the burger and the burger, what we could see of it, lacked any taste. I mean come on, you cant get the bun to burger ratio correct! Burger 101. We then had the fish.
