The Malt Shop

I have mixed feelings on the revamped Malt Shop. The remodel is fine. It's neat to have another bar in the neighborhood, I guess, but it feels like it takes up a lot of space. The retro car-style booth is pretty corny and doesn't fit into the space or the rest of the decor. The small malt is a really bad deal at $6 or $7 for a 6oz. cup. What's worse is that the malt came out extremely soupy. Too much time on the mixer I guess? The fried chicken sandwich was ok, if a bit over-darkened. The smash burger and fries were truly excellent. I'm not writing this place off, but I think there's room for improvement.

Fiancé and I loved the old Malt Shop and went there frequently. We just went to the new Malt Shop and had a great time! Food is even better than before, and the malts are too! So glad to have this place back in our community.

I miss the old (very old) booths but the new set up is nice and the food was great. The malts actually have enough malted in them, even without asking for extra they taste like malt which is not true basically anywhere else. We’re glad they have an impossible burger option which was great, the salad was fresh and well dressed, the live guitarist was good not too loud, and service was fast and very friendly despite being a busy Friday night. Fun to bring my kid somewhere I went as a kid.
