The Local

We stopped here on a whim, while passing through town for the umpteenth time. Holy cow am I glad we did. We got the last order of Wisconsin Sushi (ham, cream cheese and pickle deep fried) and were blown away! We also ordered the Local burger, and let me just say I believe I had the same out of body experience Remy describes in the beginning of Ratatouille. Simply spectacular! All of the ingredients are in perfect balance for an amazing meal. Fried are delicious, I can certainly recommend the fantastic cole slaw too. The Local will definitely be on our frequent list from now on!

Food is delicious, Brian ( bartender) is always friendly and quick to serve. I would typically give 4-5 stars….. But….We were here on Friday 10/21/22 and were greeted and kept up to date about our wait (busy as usual). But once we were seated we felt rushed and a nuisance. Our waitress came back 3 times within minutes of us being seated to take our order. We waited an hour to be seated and couldn’t even take a breath and look over the menu . I needed to see the wine list to choose a red and I clearly annoyed her. She brought our ticket before we were done eating and did not ask if there was anything else we would like. The worst was hearing her talk to the hostess about when she would be “flipping “ our table. It became obvious that the hostess was in charge and setting the pace. We love The Local and the Hale house so sharing this is to help improve.I know you are trying to accommodate as many people as possible but if it feels like a turn and burn then fewer will choose to come. We had a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, which was pretty hot, and a bang bang chicken wrap, that was pretty good. It was busy, and it's not a very big place. The service was very good! Food : 4/5 | Service : 5/5 | Atmosphere : 4/5 … More
