The Kolache Kitchen - LSU

I used to love this place. Went there today and it has gone downhill. My boudin kolache wasn't even warm. The employees working were a mess and so was the entire building. Both back of the house and front of the house employees were not wearing any type of hat or hairnets besides the one guy who had his hoodie on his head. Then there is the lady who put my order together. She needs to be retrained all over again. He hair was not even up out of her face and was hover over the food. She was also eating food while putting orders together. She never once used gloves to put the orders in bags/boxes. Her idea of food safety was to just use the paper sheets to not only open the doors to the food but to use the same sheet of paper to grab the food. And they are always out of menu items. I don’t k ow why they can’t better prep for the morning rush. I gave them 2 stars only because the guy who took my order was nice and efficient while taking the order. First of all— the service was super friendly and sweet. I was surprised they had tofu, and the tofu tacos were really good! Y’all please keep adding vegetarian options to your menu :)

The food is good but I have had more than one issue here. I am a regular customer because I love the Kolaches, but the employees are always so unpleasant. I have never met such rude employees. My last visit was particularly disappointing. Not only was the person who took my order rude, she replaced one of my food items with another without asking. I have dietary restrictions and order accordingly, usually with no issue. I am glad I checked my box before I pulled out today. She did correct the item, but she was clearly unhappy to do so. As a frequent customer, I genuinely hope this doesn’t continue to happen.
