The Delectable Egg-Dine-In, Patio Dining, Takeout & Delivery Open

The Delectable Egg is normally as automatic as it gets as far as consistency and quality goes. Today the review is mixed but unfortunately there was more bad than good. The good? The blueberry crepes and the portobello and veggie melt were fantastic. The bad? I was given the wrong side with my melt, the potatoes that we were given were terrible, the eggs on my fiancé’s crab cake Benedict was overcooked and the muffins were burned.

Our waitress was great, really friendly and kind. The wait wasn’t too long as we were able to join the waitlist through yelp which was much appreciated. The food itself wasn’t bad. My husband’s pancakes and omelette were very good. My California Benedict was good except for the fact that they only served me 2 small slices of dark-spotted avocado. I feel you can tell a lot about a place by the caliber of avocado they are willing to serve a customer. Also, the food took quite some time to come out. I understand that it was a busy Sunday, but Sunday brunches should be a this type of restaurant’s bread-and-butter, therefore I would expect they would be able to handle the volume at hand. The taste of the food and friendliness of the wait staff would warrant 5 stars, however due to the substandard avocado and long wait for our meals I’m only giving 3.
