Visited the Cottage restaurant for dinner during our trip to Siesta Key. The tuna poke appetizer was amazing and the brussel sprouts were good but I prefer them more crispy. The portion sizes here were great and the scallops were some of the largest I’ve ever been served.
The lobster bisque was unbelievable. The seared tuna sandwich was serious eating. Delicious. The strawberry basil cocktail was too much on the syrup side. That should be refined. The hostess was delightful. This young lady was bubbly and beautiful and made you feel totally welcome. Our server was wonderful. It’s not a five star review because the drinks were a bit on the thick/syrup side. A bit of refinement on cocktails and this is a must visit awesome food destination.
All the food was absolutely delicious, but there were a couple of items we ordered that didn’t seem to be worth the amount we paid for it. The bronzed black grouper was really good, but the person who ordered it didn’t really like the sauce or the quinoa as much as they thought they would. The Lobster Maki roll was large (10 pieces) but the filling was mostly rice and wasn’t nearly as impressive of a sushi roll for how much it cost. We were seated inside which was nice, but I will say that with the live music right next to us, it did get a bit loud at times. But they had decent indoor and outdoor seating. But the appetizers we ordered blew our minds! The short rib grilled cheese bites, shrimp tempura, lobster bisque, calamari…man, they were good! Between our group, we ordered all the salads and a wide variety of entrees from their menu and loved them. Other than what was mentioned above, there were no more complaints!
