The Cottage

Extremely delicious food, fantastic drinks, and a great atmosphere. From the burgers, to the pizza, to the wings and everything in between, the food is amazing. Their specials are always good and makes it a great resturant to visit on any day of the week. The drinks are plentiful and the patio drinks are superb. Their drink specials are also similar to their food specials, just overall great deals. The atmosphere is great, for both families, bar-regulars, and visitors. I will say that as the night goes later, the drunks come out. The many of times I've been there, there have been close to a few fights, as well as an instance of a friend almost getting roofied at the bar a couple years back. While this is not a criticism of the bar, it's good to be aware of safety if you're planning to stop by late. You can't stop people's dumb actions especially at any bar, but stay aware.

We went to The Cottage to watch the Bears vs Green Bay game. We ordered the stuffed Jalapenos and they were horrible. We sent them back. The tables on the outside patio are so old and sticky. Your glass and elbows stick to the table. The sweet potato fries tasted weird too, like they were burnt but they weren't. We didn't finish them. Gluten free pizza was pretty tasteless. We came here to watch the game outside on the patio but after asking countless times asking them to turn on the Bears game (which took forever) they were unable to turn the sound on. Which is weird considering they are a sports bar. Horrible experience and horrible food. Waiter was great tho (July) very nice and attentive.

It's been a very long time since I was last here, and it's safe to say that The Cottage has aged like fine wine. They just keep getting better. I had hands down the best Reuben I've ever had in the Chicago area, and the service was beyond awesome. Super friendly and extremely accommodating. We needed to stop for food after a softball game, forgot we had the dog, and they were nice enough to let us sit outside with her and dine here. This is the best experience I've had at a restaurant in years. Thank you so much, Cottage.
