Stopped by without realizing there was a popular snobby Home Tour event going on in the exact neighborhood surrounding this restaurant, but nevertheless had a great meal! This place has great charm & is saturated with nostalgia from my "wonder years" of the 1970s and 80s. Great staff, all around. Great menu - again, nostalgic, with options like meatloaf, goulash & a contemporary tater tot revival. Strange that the impatient occupants of a table nearby seemed to expect a Comedy show of some sorts in this <restaurant> but I guess everyone has their own idea of what a neighborhood eatery should offer. It may have been their first time in a restaurant that didn't have golden arches on its sign. Anyway, HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Commons, it's staff, the menu & the ambience, and have revisited several times since that day, never leaving with even the slightest disappointment!
Enjoyed a celebratory Sunday brunch with my partner at The Commons recently. The atmosphere is very nostalgic, hip 70s vibe. There’s a sunny patio to enjoy. The food was very satisfying. The owner, Beth, went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and personally saw to it that we were enjoying ourselves. What a gem! Happy to support a locally, owned small business like this.
This is a fun little restaurant bar in a nice area. Great place for date night or dinner/drinks with friends. The place has a fun retro vibe to it and they have an area where you can play their Nintendo and sit around a TV like you're in the 70s basement. I would recommend this place as a stop for a fun night out
