The Chimes

’ve been here many times, it’s great! Really nice atmosphere out on the upstairs outdoor patio. They have heaters and TVs. There is a bar and standing area. I’ve also sat inside which is nice. The noise level is nice, it’s not too loud but not quiet either. It’s a nice vibe and the wait staff are on top of their jobs. We always get the cheese sticks, which are really good! They’re the biggest cheese sticks I’ve ever seen. The cheese sticks are so big one per person is enough. The red beans and rice are really good too! We’ve gotten that several times. Their sandwiches are also good. Pretty much everything on the menu is great and you can’t pick a bad thing. It is in a nice location right by LSU, so after you eat you can walk around campus.

Good food, decent prices, slow service. Mostly a good place but a few small issues. One is that service is slow. The other is that oysters do not come served on ice so eat them fast! Otherwise, food was good. Overall not crazy expensive and not quite bad local choice. Definatly a decent option.

Being a Southern girl, loving every battered, fried, and dripping with sauce, I was right at home at Chimes. We stopped in for lunch at the location just outside LSU’s campus and it was awesome. The place is large and cooly decorated. The staff were nice and accommodating but most importantly, the food is finger licking DELICIOUS! We ordered a bunch of sides (crab claws, sausage balls, onion rings, and wings). The sausage balls were heavenly and as an onion ring connoisseur, I rank Chimes’ in my top 5 best of all time. I can’t wait to go again ????????‍♀️!
