Lovely atmosphere! Called ahead and was told to arrive around 2pm since they close at 3pm. We arrived at 2:15 and ordered at the counter the following: celebration board (charcuterie cheese and meat board), lobster and shrimp roll, vegetable wrap and two drinks for about $80. The Celebration board was good although nothing spectacular. At 2:50 I went back in to look at the drink menu and without any prompting the woman at the register reminded me in an unfriendly tone that no food could be ordered and was I limited to ordering drinks from the cooler area. Around 3:10 we still had not received our sandwiches and we noticed everyone was leaving. I went back in and asked if our food was ready and she said she would check... It took another 10 or 15 minutes for our food to come out some I'm guessing they completely forgot to make it. Fortunately we got our fancy food in take out boxes and were told to take our time and enjoy. We were given some free water bottles. The lobster/shrimp roll w

Very safe and tranquil way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Frick, and it's Cafe, remain one of the best kept secrets in the city of Pittsburgh. Visiting and dining here is a respite from the business of life. I have long been a fan of their tea service, and I'm rather disappointed that it is now only offered on weekends. You get more food for your buck than most other tea services in town: four tea sandwiches, at least two scones per person, and as an assortment of pastries and fresh fruit. They also offer lunch daily, and dinner services on Friday. This is a lovely place to treat yourself to good food and a little peace and quiet, or to take out of town guests. Non-members can make same-day reservations. After you've eaten, I also highly recommend walking the grounds to visit the Car and Carriage Museum and the greenhouse, both free to enter.
