Thai Ruby Restaurant

We have had 2 good experiences in the past but tonight we went in at 6pm with another table that seated right next to us. We were greeted by someone who looked like the owner or manager trying to make conversation. Both of our tables ordered at the same time, at 6:40 we watched as the other table received their food- all 6 meals. Our table had ordered 8 meals- mostly vegetarian. We asked about our food and were told they were still making it. We watched as To go orders were filled and still no food for us. At 7pm our toddler was antsy as we’d been there now for an hour and no food still. The manager was nowhere to be seen. Finally our food came at 7:20 with no apology or explanation and then a bill to follow minutes later with gratuity included. We asked for the manager and were told okay he was there but he never showed up. We now left at 7:30 with our food in to go containers heading home to never enter this place again. Very good food with some unusual twists for Thai. We eat a good bit of Thai food, so came in here after an appointment to get a late lunch/early dinner since we hadn't eaten. We got the Ruby Wrap for appetizer - very good, but not what we expected...more noodles than vegetables. We also got a cup of Tom Ka soup - also very good, lighter than many but just as flavorful. I got the roast duck with red curry sauce and veggies (upper dish in picture) and my wife the Rad Nar with chicken (lower dish). These were excellent, and very filling. Will definitely go there again next time we get over that way.

The pad Thai is a sweeter pad Thai, which I enjoy. The sticky rice dessert was a small portion of rice, larger portion of mango. The service was a bit sluggish - waiter didn’t come see us for like 15 minutes after serving us. Overall good Thai restaurant though!
