Thai Neighbor

I've been to five other Thai places in the area since I moved here a year ago. This one is the best. By far. Exactly the sort of quality Thai place I was hoping to find in the Chicago area. I wouldn't go to any other place for Thai going forward. Try it; you'll see. Dietary restrictions: They are extremely accommodating. Gluten intolerant and vegan eaters, this is a solid place to go.

Decided to finally try this spot out - and the food was amazing. I was a little frustrated at first when I got home with my takeout - only to find there were no sauces in the bag. However, that should have been a sign, because this food inherently has flavor. No sauces are needed when a restaurant is on its game...and honestly, I forget that with so many average spots around. Our Tom kha kai, pad Thai, and the fried rice were all so fresh and flavorful - and needed no enhancement, whatsoever. We will definitely be back to try more. Kicking myself because I waited so long. Kudos to Champ and his team with this winner!

I am a huge Thai food fan, and am no stranger to the many delicious Thai food restaurants in Oak Park. This restaurant is truly something special. Champ is constantly switching up the menu, trying out new things and encouraging his customers to do the same. That said, if you have a favorite item that no longer appears on the menu, he is happy to make it for you if he has the ingredients on hand. Going to Thai Neighbor feels like going to Champ’s place for dinner. His creativity is endless, and his food presentation can’t be beat. Highly recommend!
