Been my favorite since I was a kid. Every time I go it is always amazing with friendly staff. Cheap + crispy onion rings tops it off. Grubhubed some tonight to put my girlfriend on and you'd expect the quality to be a bit lower when it is delivery but it was still excellent. She gave it a 10/10.
I got the fish platter, but was able to sub O-rings for the fries. Excellent - crispy. The slaw looked like it had been on a fridge shelf for a while. But everthing else very tasty as usual.
This place is a true American classic. Virtuosic Americana in the birth place of uncle sam. This is what fast food was, could and should be. Fresh, fast (but not too fast), affordable and utterly delicious. Everything made to order. the fish was flakey and tender fried perfectly. The clam chowder was briney and decadent and at the same time wholesome and comforting. Anytime I’m in the area I will gladly go out of my way to come here. I hope this place never changes.
