Tao Tao

Like many other people it seems, we found out about Tao Tao after they graced the cover of the star. We ordered online, and from the moment we walked in for pickup, everyone in the kitchen was so friendly, and Tina just can’t rave enough about her mom. It’s very cute. The pride they all have for their restaurant is very evident in everything they do. The customer service was off the charts. Tina opened every box for us making sure our order was right and showing us which dish was which. We got the Springfield cashew chicken and they even ask how far your drive is so your chicken doesn’t get soggy if it’s more than 10 minutes (in which they’ll give you the sauce on the side if it is). We said we’d be fine to sauce up there since our drive was short. When I got home I realized I had a missed call from the restaurant. I called back hoping I didn’t forget something, but it was just Tina because she couldn’t remember if we got our sauce or not. When we didn’t answer, she went back on the se

There's a reason why this is the hottest restaurant in KC right now. The buzz is all correct: this place is amazing. I felt like family the moment I walked in and sensed an energy that is rare these days. Chef Annie and Tina felt like long lost relatives welcoming me home for dinner. The General Tso's chicken had the most delicious breading I've ever tasted on Chinese food (I recommend the sauce on the side). The mini dessert crab Rangoons are enough by themselves to get me back over and over. Get there soon and see for yourself why they've been in business for 50 years. 5 stars.

The best Chinese food ever. We had the Springfield cashew chicken. It was the best cashew chicken I have ever ate. Also the egg rolls and crab ragoon were absolutely delicious.
