Authentic. Small, with a few booths, tables and a sushi bar. Parking is on the street or in the lot. Great assortment of sushi. I always get the house special at a good price. Includes choice of sushi, choice of tempura, choice of salmon cheeks or tuna roll, rice and choice of soup. Their fish soup is my favorite. The broth is hot and tasty, and you get plenty of bony fish heads to suck on. Wash it all down with a large bottle of Asahi beer. Green iced tea is a specialty. Doesn't get much better.
First time trying Taihei Sushi in Monterey Park and it was absolutely delicious! I got the Matsu-Sushi box for $29. It came with 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and 6 pieces of the tuna roll! The box was absolutely delicious, and the rice was also seasoned perfectly. Great communication while doing a phone order and super friendly employees! I highly recommend Taihei Sushi!
Absolutely the best quality sushi that you can get in the LA area. Service is great, sushi is great, environment is great. 12/10.
