Sign says seat yourself so I did. One of the waitstaff made eye contact with me as I walked by. After I sat down, no one even acknowledged me with the exception of a man who seemed to be a manager when he asked me if anyone saw me when I came in. I told him she saw me, but hadn't come yet. He walked away. I finally left and ran into him on the way out. He said he was sorry, but maybe I should have moved to a different table. I am tall and am fairly certain I could be seen where I was. Further, why allow people to seat themselves if you don't have a way to make sure they are served? My first stay at this hotel and I won't be back to this restaurant.
This restaurant is inside the Sheraton in Mesa next to the Cubs spring training facility. Even though they still have a very limited menu, the food is fine for a hotel restaurant. I was here on business for 4 nights. Two major problems though! Very low inventory on liquor in the bar, all out of vodka except for the cheap well brands and some flavored vodka! Also they had only one bartender every night handling the bar, restaurant, food running, bussing and everything else! I believe this is cruel to employees. Poor people had to work much harder as they should and of course the service was slow and not staff's fault Btw I visited a few other bars and restaurants in the area and they seemed to be fully staffed and well stocked, so I see this as a management issue.
Sat at the messy bar for 5-10 minutes, two bartenders didn’t say a word the entire time. Maybe they just were slammed before we pulled up but it was not busy at the time. At least say “hi, I’ll be with you in a moment” sheeeeeesh.
