Soy's Sushi Bar & Grill

The food was great, reasonably priced and the server was not the most attentive but not horrible. We got the California rolls, the Vegas and unagi maki. The menu from 9 months ago is up to date

The restaurant doesn't have uni, ikura, toro, or any of the more exotic sushi/sashimi offerings but that is not uncommon in SLC. On the other hand, the tempura was excellently done and the sashimi tasted fresh, better than we've had in other restaurants. We especially loved the snowbird roll with escolar, hamachi & jalapeno vinaigrette. We also got the calamari which was good. The tonkatsu ramen was a bit different than we've had before. The pork in the ramen was really smoky and succulent and while it isn't this traditional tonkatsu, it was fantastic. It made the entire dish very creamy with a hint of smoke. I only wish that the egg was not hard boiled but I would definitely have this dish again. Overall our meal was delicious and we will definitely be going back.

Definitely worth checking out. It was the closest one open on a Sunday coming from the south end of the valley. The service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly and checked in often. The sushi and sashimi were good quality, and the presentation was beautiful. The prices could be better though. Investing a bit into the establishment would make it look better. But overall, I can't complain about the food. I enjoyed it.
