Southern Eats

My father is from Charleston, SC so my family and I are very picky about our Shrimp and Grits. So I will have to say that Southern Eats Shrimp and Grits would actually have me going back for more. I could only eat half of my portion and excited to ear the leftovers. Great location + great service + great food = A repeat customer. I also love the fact that they are locally, family and veteran owned. A must try when visiting Norfolk Downtown area.

UPDATE: Came & had the chicken dinner with greens, sweet potato biscuits, & ziti with cheese. My first experience was phenomenal but I assume perhaps that’s because the manager was there. This time, not so great; therefore, I lowered my review. my chicken dinner came with extremely deep fried chicken, greens that had sugar in them, and they missed my biscuits. Overall, the plate was extremely subpar —that includes presentation & taste—and maybe that’s because I had such high expectations. I’ll give them another try because my server was cool & like I said my first experience was cool but ima need that every time. Thanks guys. I came in today around 7pm, so they were closing in an hour but they didn’t treat us like they were closing which is amazing. The food was ok (4). Or server didn't like us (1). (11/22/2021). The lady serving the 3 gentlemen at the other table was nicer to us than the lady serving our table. The food was worth a return trip, but the lady in all black isn't. Food 4. Service 2. Overall 3.
