This cozy little place has got the best soul food anywhere in Lakewood or the West End of Cleveland as far as I'm concerned. I got the Perch dinner with Collard greens and Mac & Cheese. Prices are very affordable, portions are healthy and the service is spot on!!
After telling my significant other about The Southern Cafe for years, we finally made it (not from greater CLE area). I'm happy to say that it exceeded expectations. Staff was awesome, food was exceptional. They have a clean restaurant (and bathroom). 10/10 would highly recommend.
Ordered the chicken dinner on Uber Eats $12+$1 white meat Upgrade. Received (3) whole wings. I expected a breast and two wings. Ordered shrimp and grits $11. Received (3) shrimp, and lukewarm grits in a delicious sauce. The Mac and cheese was good. The house potatoes were creamy and delicious; think homemade augratin potatoes. The corn muffin has small jalapeños inside, which I didn't mind.
